- Skill development and training programs formulated for the up-liftment and Quality of life & improvement for our Muslim Communities.
Anticipated Outcomes
- Through Allah’s grace and the support from our Muslim brother’s and sisters to achieve the objectives as outlined in the ‘AMJ WORKSHOP’ section
Justification
- Due to the magnitude of poverty in the surrounding communities, skill development, feeding schemes and extra Madrassah classes are necessary
Limitations and Restrictions
- Rental fee/s of the property, currently utilized for the purposes outlines in this section, is a demanding and strenuous monthly issue.
- Financial constraint and restrictions to acquire all necessary tools and “raw materials”. For this reason there is the need for donations and support from our Muslim Brothers and Sisters.
Aims and Objectives
Skill Development Workshop
- One of the primary objectives of the workshop is skill development and training programs specifically designed and intended for the general up-liftment and improvement for both social and economical prosperity of our Muslim communities. Achieving these objectives will systematically combat and alleviate poverty in our communities. Both Muslim and non Muslim Communities will benefit from such skill development and training programs.
- The following are examples of the training and skill development programs:
- Knitting – Bags, Jerseys, caps
- Crochet – Bags, Jerseys, caps
- Beading – Costume jewelry
- Mosaic – Crafts
- Sewing:
- Men Abayas
- Burkhas, Scarves and under scarves
- Baby quilts, cot quilts
- Baby sheets, pillows and pillowcases
- Curtains, quilts
- Peg bags, dish cloth holders
- Embroidered Bags, Shopping Bags
- Door Stoppers
Feeding scheme
- A feeding scheme has been started whereby food is distributed after Jumuah from the current AMJ workshop rented property. In addition, other charitable endeavors are at present managed and administered from this location. This includes grocery and clothing distribution.
